T minus 15 hours until D-Day....
Or "Doug Day" as the case may be. My little brother is finally coming back home after 3 long years in Germany. Better yet, he's bringing the wife, the two kids & the two large dogs. Did I mention that they're staying with us for the next 1-3 weeks?
Insanity -- Yup, probably.
Temporary leave of my senses -- Oh yeah, most definitely.
Good times -- you betcha!
Totally turning little Miss Tabitha's world on its side -- we expect so.
Until today, she was more excited about the dogs staying with us than the boys (7 & 3). Today she decided that the boys sounded pretty cool and at the grocery store she wanted to buy fruit roll-ups for them too, so that they could have one tomorrow when they get here. So one gets grape & the other gets strawberry.
It'll be interesting to see how she handles this invasion. She was all about helping me vacuum & clean earlier tonight and she's decided that the boys need to camp out in the living room. (we'll see....) Frankly I'm more concerned about what she'll teach then & they teach her.
It's been a hard week with separation anxiety issues. Pretty much getting 1-3 calls a day from the school because she's crying & wants me to get her. Haven't been able to do so, so far. She's hearing a lot of "Mom's at work right now & I can't get there for another hour." I've already heard multiple times that she wants to go to work with me, that she doesn't want me to go to work, and my favorite this morning: "Isn't school cancelled because it's raining and I want to stay home & sleep?!" She'd also hearing "Dig Deep!" (Inside joke since this was the text of last week's sermon at church.) and "Uh-oh, This is soooo sad." usually followed by something she doesn't like. Bedtime has been better, at least for her. Me, I still need to figure that one out. And on that note -- I'm off to bed. I'm going to work and then leave, hopefully by 1pm to head to the airport to fetch the dogs and then the family (separate flights, oy vey!)
