Back in Moscow on Friday
We left Ryazan about 1425pm and arrived in Moscow about 3 hours later. Currently we're at an internet cafe down the block from our hosts' apartement with their 18 year old daughter, Anna, as our guide. Currently it's about 1935 pm local time and we keep checking with her that we're not making her miss a date. She says "no", but keeps text messageing like mad. Michael bought her time on a computer as well, so that helps.... Michael's laptop has failed to be able to get online so the grand plan of posting pictures to the internet from the laptop went kaput Tuesday. Anna was good enough to talk to the computer dude here and see if he can upload my photos. We'll see what happens....
Over all it's been a good visit with Masha. We saw her for 1-2 hours twice a day Wednesday & Thursday and about 1.5 hours today. She's doing as well as can be expected, but is eager to get home to the USA and the cats. We had quite the talk yesterday and she understands that she's going to have to go to school and learn English once she comes home with us. And she's totally OK with that. And through our host we talked to her today and she really really wants to take gymnastic lessons.... I'm surprised how?
The entire trip has been quite the experience thus far. The longer we're here, the more my Russian is coming back, as well as my self-consciousness regarding my horrible grammar. The kids in Masha's group didn't mind though -- apparently I was quite the novelty, an American who could actually converse with them, brute force langauage though it was.
OK -- WE HAVE PICTURES! Unfortunately I have no way to edit them, so the ones I wanted to post are all sideways and will have to wait until we get home. Don't expect anything right away as I'm on call for 2 weeks straight starting Monday as "payback" for leaving town on short notice. Can't wait to see what they do to me when I take 6 weeks adoption/maternity leave....
At anyrate, I'm going to try and get something
up....
This is Masha with her coloring book (HUGE Hit Mom!) sitting on her bed. She shares a room with 3 other girls.
